The normal Local Rules of Silves Golf Course are set out below. From time to time, Special Local Rules and Winter Rules may be published and details of these can be found on the notice board.

Out of Bounds (Rule 27)

· Beyond any wall, fence or white stakes bounding the Course.
· Beyond the stakes bounding the Clubhouse and terrace.
· Beyond the stakes on the left of the first fairway, towards the practice putting green.
· The fence to the left of the 11th fairway defines the limit of the course.
· If a ball crosses the out of bounds on the left hand side of the fairway and comes to rest on the area of the12th tee it is deemed out of bounds. If a ball crosses the same out of bounds but comes to rest back on the 11th fairway the ball is deemed in play.

Water Hazards (Rule 26)

· Water hazards are marked with yellow stakes.
· Lateral water hazards are marked with red stakes.
· Where there are no lines the water hazard margins follow the natural lines of the hazard.

Ground Under Repair (Rule 25)

· All areas marked by blue stakes or otherwise, e.g. red and white tape

Immovable Obstructions (Rule 24.2)

· Irrigation units including sprinkler heads and control boxes.
· All course furniture including information boards, bench seats. Drainage grills and ball washers.
· All buggy paths and service roads.

Stones in Bunkers (Rule 24.1)

· Stones and rakes in bunkers are moveable obstructions.

YOUNG TREES    (RULE 24-2B(1)
· Protection of young trees which are identified by stakes, white tags or individual wire mesh: if such a tree interferes with a player's stance or the area of their intended swing, the ball must be lifted in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 24-2b(1). The ball may be cleaned when so lifted.

Random Stone Walls and Ruins

· Stone walls on the course and the ruin to the right of the 4th hole, including walls supporting teeing areas and buggy paths, are integral parts of the course.
· There is no relief without penalty.

Aeration Holes

On the putting green a ball that comes to rest in or on an aeration hole may be placed at the nearest spot not nearer the hole that avoids the situation.
